"Play" Date

We are having a good visit down here in SC with my wonderful in-laws for the Thanksgiving week! Colt is REALLY having a blast though with all of the attention from Grandma and Grandpa, and today Hayden came over to play for a few hours.

The boys are just 2 months apart and are so cute together! Colt would run around yelling for "Hawen" and they would hug or fight over the balls. . . you know how boys are? :-) But they both agreed to play the piano together.

Bad to the Bone

You know how people always give their babies funny hair styles in the bath tub. . . Somehow it never occurred to me to perform this monumental milestone until now:-) haha. Colt enjoyed it (but I guess you can see that).

First "Hairs Cut"

So, Aunt Debbie had mentioned this cute place that gives kids their first haircut for a penny! I called David to make sure it was ok. . . wasn't sure if he was going to be sentimental and want to be present :-) He didn't. He just said, don't get it cut too much! We are fond of our fuzzy headed boy I suppose. . . haha.

So, Colt sat on the little motorcyle and didn't move a muscle! (good thing because he wasn't strapped in!) He wasn't really sure what was going on, he wasn't really smiling, but he was doing just fine. He loved the motorcyle handles and buttons.

She started cutting his bangs (much needed), and I was having second thoughts. She really didn't cut much other than that before I said "ok, thank you!" (aka - that's enough). So, he doesn't look much different, but he can probably see better :-) Of course, David thought it was QUITE noticeable.

Jakob and Colt

We just got back from a visit with our South Carolina cousins (Colt LOVED Adam), Aunt Debbie, and Uncle David. The main reason for our visit was Aunt Debbie turned the big 5-0! But, she doesn't look a day over 2-5! :-) Jakob also had a birthday a couple of weeks ago. He turned 1 and started walking around then too. . . and literally "walks circles" all the time! He's definitely a mover, so he and Colt got along great :-)

These are just pics of the first evening when they got reacquainted. Who knew a barrel of monkeys could be so much fun? Colt loved the horse as well!

Other fun things that I will post about later - Joey and Jennifer took us to the zoo. So, we saw lots of animals! And Colt got his first haircut. Um. . . that was special as you will see.

Must come naturally

Colt looooves to read. He has more books than toys I believe, which is fine with me. The only problem is that he wants to "read" (I say that "read" because he hardly ever sits through an entire book) every single one of them every time he sees a book.

So, the interesting thing about these pictures is they are not posed. He wanted to read, but he wanted to sit on the toilet. I'm not sure how sanitary that is. . . but he obviously wasn't USING the toilet. Wonder where he learned this anyways? :-)

"Wings"

Swings are quite possibly Colt's new favorite thing. Uncle Dale and Aunt B got Colt a swing for his birthday which is now on our back porch. He can see it from his high chair every time he eats. . . so we go "wing" for hours it seems. He'll just sit there and point at the "quirrels" which is funny to hear him say. He REALLY emphasizes the "K" sound at the beginning of "quirrel." He seems to ALWAYS see one too. . . even when there are none.

These are some more pics from Wednesday afternoon. After Colt and I finished "walking" we found this "wing" and played on it for about 45 minutes. Colt waved "hiiii" to everyone and wanted to follow the "doggies."

Well Colt went for his 15 month check up yesterday. He didn't get his shots because he has a cold. . . hopefully that will resolve quickly. He is 33 inches and 23 1/2 pounds. So he's "tall and thin" according to the doctor (like his daddy). He's in the 25% for weight and 75% for height. Funny, because I always thought he had quite the tummy to show for :-)

Right now I'm trying to function because I worked last night and should really be sleeping before I have to go back tonight. David made a quick errand and ended up breaking down so his 45 minute trip has turned into several hours. Thankfully, "I can do all things through Christ," because this little one is hard to keep up with when my tank is empty.

We can always learn from little ones. . . I should rest completely in the hands of my heavenly Father and enjoy the view as I "swing" through this temporary life.
